No Braves on that list? Jair Jurjjens, Kelly Johnson, Willy Escobar, and of course, McCann and Francouer. Braves have a very potent 1-8.

You're biased.

If it isn't the Yankees or Red Sox, SI won't give any other team a chance. Oh by the way I know it's early but the Braves are in first place in their division right now and they are leading the majors in hitting.

Baseball - We had our first league game today. It started at 430 so I was able to be there on time for a change which was nice. We started out hot scoring 4 in the first inning. We cooled off and did not score again until the 5th and we also gave up 3. We tacked on another run in the 5th and made it 6-3. They struck back in the bottom of the 5th and made it 9-6. We had 4 errors in that inning. However, the kids really stepped up in the 6th and we put 5 on the board. They did not get a run in the bottom half of the 6th. We put another 5 spot on the board and made it 16-9. In the bottom of the 7th with the game being threatened by darkness, their team made the last out on a called third strike. It was a really cool game to win. Their leadoff hitter was 0-4 with 4 strikeouts and a walk.

Sotball - I suck. Something is not clicking. I can't hit, I can't catch, I can't throw. I was 2-4 today, but those hits went a combined 70 feet and the second one went 69 feet by itself.

Our Opening Day was rained out (as in severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings).

I'm going with the Tigers over the Phillies in seven. Hopefully Curtis Granderson gets back 100 percent.

If any of you have kids (or ever have kids) and you coach their rec-league sports teams (baseball, for example) a Saturday like I had yesterday will wipe you out.

I was at the park at 8 a.m. in an official capacity as the Tiny Tee commissioner to help get the first game going. On an adjacent field, a T-Ball game needed an umpire... so I ran over there to call the game. That game ended in time for me to coach my youngest son's Tiny Tee game. That game ended just before my oldest son's Farm League game started, where I coached and pitched. Add to that, yesterday was my son's birthday, complete with party that ran to about 5 p.m., and a subsequent sleepover at my house by some of my other son's teammates.

Back to the stats for TRO, my oldest son was 0-2 on Thursday with two fly outs... and 2-2 on Saturday with a bunch of RBI. I'm too tired to go to the truck and get the stat book for the numbers.
