Question The WWE NETWORK thread

It begins. DISH Network dumped Elimination Chamber:

DISH continues to provide a variety of WWE programming, including ‘WWE Raw’ on USA, ‘WWE Smackdown’ on Syfy, ‘WWE Main Event’ on Ion and ‘WWE Total Divas” on E!. At this time, WWE pay-per-view events are not available on DISH.”

“DISH will not offer the ‘WWE Elimination Chamber’ PPV on 2/23. WWE is not willing to adjust their PPV costs to satellite and cable companies, which is unfair to their customers. We need to re-focus our efforts to support partners that better serve DISH customers. Other satellite and cable companies, including DIRECTV, have also expressed they may no longer provide WWE PPV events in the future.”

...and the buyrates won't change at all.

I'm geeked about this. I think this could be the beginning of al a carte TV.

Still on the fence, I'll wait to see how the Mania card takes shape before I buy in.

If I understand correctly, it's $60 for six months which includes: Wrestlemania, 5 other PPVs, the entire HOF, pre and post show stuff, plus loads of other new and old stuff...

Sounds an incredible offer to me - I'd be biting their hand off...

That's the introductory pricing. 10$ a month with a 6 month commitment.

I couldn't justify Classics on Demand b/c I didn't watch it enough, and it's the same situation here. I don't watch Smackdown, I'm in and out on RAW. I only watch PPVs if there's a get together somewhere, and if not, I pick and choose which matches I wanna see or that got good reviews. And as far as the old PPVs, those you can find on You Tube. If I got it, it would only be for Mania and I would just do the 6 month commitment with no renewal. We'll see...I'm on the fence

It's a pretty sweet deal though... how much is it going to be after 6 months?

No idea. I only know what was in the press release. There isn't even a launch date or Canadian pricing yet.

It'll probably end up being a few dollars more, and Hillbilly Jim will be at WWE HQ arguing with people who try to call up and cancel.

That revolution has been well under way for years. WWE (pro wrestling) is only unique because of its programming model (though UFC has already done this, while requiring customers to still pay full price for PPVs),

Every UFC PPV is on Netflix Canada seemingly a few days after it airs live.
